After being treated to a delicious Jiangnan meal this afternoon, I decided to return the favor by treating everybody to dessert. In the past, it would be impossible to get a table at Lady M in Festival Walk usually meant a long wait, but it seems business hasn't been quite the same in recent years.
As a frequent customer here, of course I know exactly what to order for us, the two new members of Lady M's Mille Crêpes series.
Dubai Chocolate Mille Crêpes cake – The paper-thin chocolate crêpes were absolutely filled with fragrant pistachio and silky chocolate pastry cream in between each layer, and sitting on top we have a layer of crispy kataifi drizzling with pistachio spread and tahini. My second time having this and it's just as delicious as the first.
Burnt Cheesecake Mille Crêpes cake – I've been wanting to try this for a long time, but it's only available for dine-in. No take-away.
With this dessert, we got the best of both worlds—the rich, caramelized flavor of a burnt cheesecake combined with the delicate layers of Lady M’s classic mille crêpe cake.
This was complemented by an extra layer of buttery, crumbly crust on top of the creamy cheese mille crêpes, offering some contrasting textures and flavors. And finally, there was the torching on-site on the sugar layer to add some smokiness to the mix.
It was nice to do our part in supporting the local F&B industry over the weekend. Hopefully, they can get over the hump pretty soon.
