Tai Ping Koon Restaurant Pak Sha Road 太平館餐廳 白沙道店 (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

With so many dining options in Causeway Bay, it's not surprisingly at all that it's our first time having lunch at Tai Ping Koon Restaurant (太平館餐廳) on Pak Sha Road (白沙道店).

To be honest, TPK wasn't our first choice to begin with but with rain pouring heavily and three of us sharing just one umbrella, we wanted to wrap up our search for lunch venue as quickly as possible.

Iced milk tea (凍奶茶)
– Much better than I anticipated. The silky smooth tea wasn't strong but there was enough milk (and perhaps some condensed milk?) to back things up. Not bad!

Seafood bisque (海龍王湯) – A tomato-based broth with seafood like shrimp, scallop, clams and fish. A bit gluey at times.

TPK style fried flat noodle with sliced beef in Swiss sauce (太平館瑞士汁牛河) – Part of the reason we came here was because of this dish that little nugget had never tried before.

I thought the premium sweet soy sauce was again very nice and addictive, and as usual, it worked well with the fried flat noodles. Little one loves it~

Salmis ox-tongue (岑味牛脷)
– The ox tongue was really tender but the sauce made with beef, liver among other things was a little more gamey than I thought. My feeling was a bit mixed about this one.

TPK style chicken wings in Swiss sauce (太平館瑞士雞翼) – Perhaps it arrived a little late and everyone was already stuffed; but no one seemed particularly enthusiastic about the wings marinated with the house special sweet soy this afternoon. Personally, it was pretty damn good but was it really really special......hm.....

Before our lunch, we have just finished paying a special visit to The Olympic House in Causeway Bay. We were there as proud parents to witness this guy getting a medal in the first competition representing his school. Great job, son! Hope there will be many more to come in the near future...
