Hachiko Sake Bar (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★☆☆☆

It's been a while since I last visited my physiotherapist in Mong Kok. This morning, I had my back checked out by him, and as soon as he's done, I hit the ground running and and tried to search for a place for a quick bite. For the past few months, I'm still trying to be really careful on where to dine out, especially in MK. After going through a number of places on my to-do list, I finally made up my mind on Hachiko Sake Bar, a little Japanese soufflé pancake specialist located just between MK and Yau Ma Tei.

Oreo and Chocolate – I think I know exactly how to start my lunch on a hot summer day. Something frosty! This was like a frappé with lots of chocolate flavors complemented nicely by the chunks of Oreo cookies. Not bad.

Tiramisu Soufflé Pancake – Had to wait for 25 minutes (I was counting) for this to arrive despite the fact that I was only the second table there. The Japanese soufflé pancake was pretty light and fluffy but I thought the tiramisu flavored ganache dried up just a little too fast so some of the pancakes didn't get soaked up with the flavorful sauce.

There are a few areas I would like to see improvement on before I would consider coming back for more; for example, service, more savory dishes on the food menu (there are currently 4 savory dishes being offered) etc.

P.S. I didn't realize it until I started writing this post but Hachiko Sake Bar (7/F) is actually a different place than Cafe Hachiko (8/F) although they are likely from the same ownership. But it was Cafe Hachiko that was originally on my hit list, not its sake bar! It looks like I've gone to the wrong place this afternoon!!!
