Lung Wah Hotel 龍華酒店 (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

If there's one positive thing that truly stands out during the pandemic for my little nugget, it's his bond with his close friends. Especially during the days when his classes were all cancelled, we could always count on the group to stick together and hang out around our home. The bond has slowly and gradually evolved into a tight knit between multiple families with parents and kids. Like today, we have decided to go on a trip to Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery (萬佛寺) together in Shatin.

But first, lunch at Lung Wah Hotel (龍華酒店). I don't quite remember if my parents have brought me here before but little one had been here a couple of times with us.

I wonder if he noticed all the transformation, from a run-down hotel cum restaurant to now, a pretty decent restaurant with an outdoor patio.

Even the garden leading to the toilet was freshly re-constructed.

But the dining room which could use a facelift, was still pretty much the same like 80 years ago when it first opened! Why......!?

The place was fairly packed when we arrived though everyone has left the building (including Elvis!) when I took this photo.

Of course, lunch won't be complete at Lung Wah without some roasted pigeons!

It's always a crowd pleaser. The kids love it. I am personally okay with it. Thought the meat was more on the hard side today and really not as tasty as what they used to be.

Something green to balance out the meat. The broccoli tossed with garlic was pretty good.

Another thing that's famous from Shatin was their tofu. This was served with assorted mushrooms and choy sum.

The braised e-fu noodles were a little bland today.

There's always time reserved for the kids to play. The little playground next to the dining area was perfect. It's small so they won't break a sweat, yet it served as a warm-up place for the next event.

And you think you're exhausted, son!? Wait till you see the stairs at the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery!!! You would wish you've never come LOL 😆.

I have to admit, I was really proud of little guy's perseverance this afternoon. He wasn't at his best today but he grinded and made it up to the top. It reminded meso much of his hike at Seongsan Ilchulbong (城山日出峰) when he was only 2 and half. He's so stubborn and anything he decided to do, he would grind it out! Good work, son!
