1) BLT Burger
The mother of all American burger joints in Hong Kong, BLT Burger offers a wide range of milkshakes including some spiked version. Some of the all-time favorites include their PBJ (Vanilla ice-cream, peanut butter and grape jelly) and Rocky Road (chocolate ice-cream, chocolate brownie and almonds) and they are as devilish as it gets.

A classic American diner featuring freshly ground burgers, fries, all-American sandwiches and they are nicely complemented by their old-fashioned milkshakes (chocolate, strawberry and vanilla only) served elegantly in a tall milkshake glass with a cherry top.

3) Main St. Deli
For one of the most exclusive selection of milkshakes in Hong Kong, look no further than Main Street Deli (Langham Hotel), an old New York style deli and first of its kind in the city. Their milkshakes range from the all-time classics (vanilla, chocolate and strawberry) to some of the more exotic flavors (pina colada cupcake, nutella banana, cookies and cream etc.). They all come in an old-school stainless steel malt cup and are as creamy, thick and fudgy as they get around here.

4) The Diner
Another authentic American diner with a retro 50s-60s décor serving up some seriously tasty burgers and amazing milkshakes. Forget about boring flavors like vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and banana, and step up to the plate with their over-the-top flavors including cherry pie, M&M, mocha, Maltesers and of course, the ultimate milkshake - Supershake, a cake flavored shake with chocolate brownie, chocolate hot lips, marshmallow and fudge sauce.

5) The Pudding Nouveau
An unlikely place for a fulfilling milkshake but The Pudding Nouveau offers so much more than just waffles and desserts. Their milkshakes are some of the richest (and heaviest) ever with multiple scoops of homemade ice-cream. Check them out if you plan on a trip to Tai Hang.

6) Chips Republic Café
Chips Republic Café prides themselves as specialist of chips, gourmet burgers, fish n chips and handmade milkshakes (Yes!). They have the second most impressive lineup of milkshakes in town, only second to Main Street Deli. Some of their naughtiest flavors include mint chocolate, green tea, caramel and Bailey's VC.

7) Shake Shack
The famous New York based burger chain made quite a splash teaming up with local F&B giant, Maxim's, to open their first branch at IFC this summer and managed to create buzz around the city. Burgers taste so much better with an old-fashioned milkshake and that's when Shake Shack's classic hand-spun shakes come in. They offer a number of flavors (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, caramel, peanut butter, black and white) but the Hong Kong exclusive Milk tea shake is definitely the one to watch out for. It's one of the thickest and richest milkshake one could ever find in Hong Kong, thanks to the vanilla frozen custard which was blended with black tea.

HeSheEat is best known for their molten chocolate lava cakes and waffles but the truth is, they've also got a pretty good collection of homemade shakes which includes the always popular matcha and chestnut flavors (The chestnut shake is really really rich and heavy so be warned!).

9) Emack & Bolio's
The multi-award winning American ice cream parlour is best known for their huge array of indulgent flavors, decadent toppings and funky cones but few know they also offer a killer milkshake called Boston ice-cream frappe. The best part about this shake is one gets to choose from one of their 20-plus flavors. Need I say more?

10) Beef & Liberty
Making it to the Michelin Guide a couple of years in a roll, Beef & Liberty is another burger joint equipped with tasty gourmet burgers and old-fashioned milkshakes. For those who hate the thick and fudgy types of shakes, Beef & Liberty has the perfect solution as theirs tend to be a little more foamy.

11) No Milkshake No Life
When No Milkshake No Life (NMNL) first opened back in 2016, they were a small American style fast food joint with eight to ten items on their menu ranging from hot dogs, tacos to sandwiches and fries. Since then, they have expanded their repertoire a bit to cover pancakes as well. But as their name also suggested, the bread and butter has always been their milkshakes. While they don't have the longest list of flavors available, they offer one of the healthiest one in the business by using only quality ingredients with no artificial colors or syrup. Check out their ovaltine, peanut butter chocolate and coffee Oreo milkshakes to make your trip to Shek Tong Tsui one to remember.

12) Triple-O's
Of course I had to squeeze Triple O into my top 12 list because the brand comes from Vancouver, British Columbia! They've recently added a mint flavored milkshake to the mix on top of the usual suspects of chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and blueberry flavors. Perfect to go with my favorite mushroom and bacon burger (as shown in the photo below).
