“Nesuto” which means “Nest” in Japanese, offers Japanese and French inspired desserts made with premium quality ingredients directly imported from Japan and Europe.
The kitchen is helmed by head pastry chef Alicia Wong, who has worked at Capella Singapore and Plentyfull restaurant for nearly six years before joining Nesuto, a concept brought to us from the folks behind Shuu by Koki and Koki Tamagoyaki at Raffles City.
I was told that there are a number of crowd pleasers here including their Le Goma, a Japanese inspired sesame cake with black sesame diplomat cream and black sesame streusel and of course, C3 Cheesecake with a combination of three kinds of cheesecakes. Both of them are their top sellers.
Miss Ispahan (SGD$9.80) - But I decided to go a different route because I was looking for something a little lighter. Perhaps something light and fruity, and Miss Ispahan looked like the perfect choice for me.
This tower shaped cake came with a mix of rose creme bavaroise, raspberry confit, lychee gelée and vanilla sponge with a brown sugar sable as the base. Despite the slightly underwhelming presentation, I thought it was surprisingly tasty with the different flavors and textures coming together nicely. The lychee gelée and raspberry confit, in particular, stood out nicely among the variety of flavors.
