Saga Tofu Ine North Branch 嵯峨とうふ稲 北店 (Kyoto, JAPAN) ★★★☆☆

Tenryū-ji (天龍寺) is not only a great place to see autumn leaves, the neighboring area including Arashiyama bamboo grove is also one of Kyoto's top tourist spots throughout the year.

But obviously, we came a little late so by the time we got our cameras rolling, it was already 7pm with very little daylight left. Looks like we had to find another time slot to come here again.

After spending a bit of time in the bamboo forest, we tried to run our way back to the train station. But it was so cold that we decided to stop by Saga Tofu Ine (嵯峨とうふ稲), just a few steps from Tenryū-ji to catch our breath.

Saga Tofu Ine is pretty famous around here for its tofu and tofu skin.

They offer different multi-course set menus that center around their famous tofu and tofu skin.

We got a glimpse of how the chefs prepare their tofu skin from the open kitchen.

We probably should have stayed for a quick dinner but instead, we only grabbed a tofu soft-serve before slowly walking back to the station in the cold.

A return trip to Arashiyama and Saga Tofu Ine is a must if we ever visit Kyoto again.
