I knew it's going to be a challenge finding a place to eat at Rocksresort tonight. During the summer holidays which would be their slow season, most restaurants at the resort are actually closed or providing limited service at best. So, not many restaurants would be open especially on a Saturday.
But luckily, Nooba, a casual diner serving pan-Asian food is open for business and the best part of all, it's located right at our building (Building E), next to the Laax base station.
The food menu here consists of Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese dishes, and some of which came with a fusion twist.
Pad Thai - This was pretty authentic. I didn't expect that, not in the middle of nowhere in Switzerland! The rice noodles were nicely tossed with egg, chicken strips, shrimps, peanuts, soybean sprouts, Thai leeks and coriander. The chef here must be Thai (I think).
Yakisoba - Fried Japanese ramen noodles with vegetables and chicken. This came with sliced ginger, green pepper etc. which you don't typically find from a yakisoba. The chef here must be Thai.
Hoisin Duck - Finally, a Chinese dish to end our night. Strips of fried duck breast tossed with carrots, onions and zucchini, were served in a rich and tangy hoisin sauce. Not very authentic but I could live with that since I was super hungry.
This pretty much wrapped up our night, our only one in Laax. Tomorrow, I have a big one lined up - a highly anticipated lunch at three-Michelin starred Schauenstein Schloss. Hope it's a good one.
