Located in a century-old former community centre on Pilatusplatz square, Hotel Anker Luzern is just within a comfortable 10-minute walk of Chapel Bridge and Lucerne Town Hall.
The hotel is a relatively new member to Lucerne's hotel scene. It started going through some serious refurbishment work back in 2014 and finally reopened in December 2016, offering 40 stylish rooms and junior suites.
As a great admirer of heritage buildings with rich history, I was really looking forward to my stay here.
If rustic and industrial are your game, then you'll absolutely fall into love with this place as much as I do.
The bathroom is spacious with a throwback theme.
I really enjoyed the nice street view from the ceiling-to-floor glass door while taking my shower!
The balcony could be a nice place to spend a quiet afternoon with a cup of coffee in your hand.
Breakfast at the ground-floor Restaurant Anker is complimentary (Yeah!) and it's one of the highlights of our stay. Look at the beautiful setting with antique furniture, chandeliers and high ceiling, and you'll understand why.
No way are we going to miss breakfast here!
This corner reminded me of a charming old furniture store.
Although their breakfast was nothing to write home about, it had everything I looked for from a healthy diet - scrambled and poached egg, bacon, smoked salmon, cured meat, salad, fruit, juices and different kinds of milk.
I think internet room is a bit old-school nowadays coz everyone uses his or her smartphones to get connected these days but just in case you're looking for one.
Speaking of old-school, how about some free arcade games, ladies and gentlemen? On selected floors only.
The only knock on Hotel Anker Luzern is perhaps the fact that it doesn't have its own parking facility or valet service onsite but I think the abundance of advantages clearly outweigh the disadvantage. Without thinking twice, I'll definitely come back next time.
