And I thought little nugget would be exhausted following a full day of activities at the beach but no. When we were finally done at the beach, he promptly asked if he could have supper with his friends. Such an energiser bunny.....
But I wasn't going to say no to having supper at Discovery Bay Plaza. I was dead tired and starving too (since I gave up all my afternoon snacks to the kids) so we agreed to simply to have quick one at Shanghai Breeze (一麵春風).
What would a Shanghainese dinner be without dan dan noodles (擔擔麵) right? I had high hopes for this mainly because it was labeled a signature dish here but the broth was so watery. Other than chili oil, I could hardly taste anything else. And no peanut butter! 😪
The kids all wanted Xiaolongbao (小籠包) and they all waited patiently until these arrived.
But sadly, the boys would later find out that the wrappers were all broken. What would soup dumplings be without soup?
A very disappointing supper even when we had very low (if any) expectations coming in. Thankfully, it'll be at least another year or two before we ever consider coming back to Tai Pak Beach (大白灣) again.
