Takano Ramen 多賀野 K11 Musea (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★★☆

Following a full day of activities at K11 Musea including a long awaited trip to the Legoland Discovery Centre, we are ready to close things out at Takano Ramen (多賀野) tonight. It's my second visit to the famed Japanese ramen shop, an import from Tokyo which had earned numerous accolades both internationally and locally (Michelin recommendation 2014-18, Tabelog Top 1000 restaurants in Tokyo etc.).

Takano Soy Sauce Ramen ($128) - Takano's signature ramen with a very impressive broth made by free-range chicken, freshest seafood and pork bones. The broth looked very clear and not a bit oily at all.

I thought this is one of the best soy sauce (shoyu) ramen I've had in a long long time. The smoky char siu (barbecued pork), soft-boiled egg and noodles all worked to near perfection.

Aguni Island Salt Ramen ($128) - The salt-based broth was prepared using some of Japan's best ingredients including mineral-rich salt from the Aguni Island near Okinawa. This brought a lot of freshness and sweetness to the soup. Other than the broth, it's pretty much the same thin noodles, barbecued pork and soft-boiled egg (except it's served with sesame and chopped onion rather than bamboo shoot).

This wasn't bad but I like the soy sauce based soup a little more thanks to the sweetness from the seafood (and bonito fish?).

Coconut Sorbet ($68) - Something sweet to end the meal on a sweet note.

The refreshing coconut was the perfect palate cleanser. Too bad I only got a couple of spoonful of this before little nugget wrested it away from me! That was the last I saw of my coconut sorbet. Weep~!
