A long time ago, I've already read about this restaurant being a family-run business that originated almost 70 years ago. Their opening-day venue was destroyed during the World War II so they moved around a little bit over the years before finally settling down here at the vibrant Dotonbori. This is a very popular place for tourists and locals so a modest lineup is always expected.
To me, Mizuno is as much a show as it is a dining experience. Behind the U-shaped counter are chefs in jeans preparing each and every pancake right in front of your watchful eyes.
If you're into leeks, their leek pancake is the perfect way to start off a meal here.
I went with their seafood pancake with scallops and oysters (¥1,620) on this day because I was craving for some seafood. I love the fact that this is totally flourless. Apart from scallops and oysters, it's mostly diced vegetables and sweet potatoes.
