While Jelloman did her damage with clothing and accessories, I spent the majority of my time circling around the department store's food hall. Since we're well into chestnut season now, it's not surprisingly that every dessert shop here is showcasing what they have to offer when it comes to chestnut desserts.
Located at a quiet corner of Abeno Harukas Kintetsu's food hall (B1F), Foundry arguably provides the largest variety of chestnut cakes and tarts.
The most eye-catching one has to be their Mont Blanc.
This would be the perfect late night snack for us.
This came with layers of chestnut "ribbons" from top to bottom. Really silky texture and the chestnut puree was delicate to the palate. Once again, it proves that Japanese are just very very good (and passionate) about their Mont Blanc cakes (here's a list of my favorite Mont Blanc cakes in Tokyo).
