However, it didn't take long for us to recall the unsatisfying encounter 3 years ago because most of the items we had then were still here! (Sadly, most of the famous Dalloyau creations which are available in Paris and Hong Kong, cannot be found here, except for the Opera and Dalloyau.)
Comparing to what we had in Hong Kong (Dalloyau), the selection here was very limited, not to mention the diminutive size.
At the end, we had to go with the Mont Blanc (¥594) again because there wasn't much to choose from. Unlike the classic Mont Blanc, this one was made of chestnut flavored meringue. It was alright but no major surprise there.
I love anything with hazelnuts and pistachio. Just throw me anything with either one of those on any given date and I will be a happy camper! So this Blanc Noisette (¥648) seemed like a no-brainer for me, or is it?
But despite the label that said "biscuit dacquois, hazelnut, caramel cream and meringue...", I was struggling to find any trace of hazelnut in the mix. Is aging slowly stealing my sense of taste or does it really taste like marshmallow with caramel?
We didn't have a heavy agenda on our first night in Osaka so we decided to check out their gift box corner before doing more damage at the nearby shopping street.
It's already getting dark out there. Time to put our shopping on hold as we have a date with 1-star Michelin chef Yoshiaki Fujimoto.
