Pasta Tokumatsu (Oita, JAPAN) ★★★☆☆

After our recent run of tonkatsu ramen, none of us was particularly upbeat about having ramen again for dinner tonight. I decided to let little guy run the show and he promptly asked for some soupy pasta.



I knew there's always going to be a Japanese pasta bar on top of a Japanese department store (this time, at AMU Plaza Oita) and turned out I was right.



Little nugget couldn't stop yelling when he saw this at the entrance.



He's obviously missing his spaghetti carbonara. I stole some of his soupy carbonara when he wasn't looking and it was quite decent. The sauce was very creamy but a little on the peppery side.



As a fan of mentaiko, this was a no brainer for me. Not bad.



Mom went with this creamy spaghetti tossed with chicken, mushrooms and asparagus. The sauce, I thought was very similar to the previous carbonara dish but less buttery. Probably the best dish from the three we ordered.
