Atelier de Godiva at Hakata Hankyu (Fukuoka, JAPAN) ★★★★☆

As someone with a seriously spoiled sweet tooth, I wasted no time opening my account while walking around Hakata Hankyu department store in Fukuoka

I had my sights set on Atelier de Godiva. While this branch of the chocolatier cum dessert shop does not offer the same wide selection as they do at Ikebukuro Seibu in Tokyo (no chocolate drinks for example), they are certainly more than just a shop selling boxes of Godiva chocolates.

This Atelier concept is under the guidance of Chef Yannick Chevolleau who joined Godiva back in 2010 and is now their R&D director for Japan and Korea. His background as a pâtissier and experience working in several Michelin-starred restaurants in France has a lot to do with these wonderful creations made primarily with what Godiva does best - chocolate.

They all look so adorable. I don't know where to start to be honest.

Chocolate palette (832 yen) - The last time I had a very satisfying chocolate palette, I was dining at Neighborhood with my buddy V.

Just by looking at the dark chocolate ganache on top, you could tell it's really rich and velvety.

Presentation looks very elegant too.

This was incredibly tasty. Underneath the layer of dark chocolate cream was delicate milk chocolate mousse matched brilliantly with the lightness of vanilla creme brulee. I love the base made with nut crumble too. It provided such a nice contrasting texture to the mix.
