Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. The Peak 阿甘蝦餐廳 (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★★☆☆

My little nugget has never been to The Peak before. I have been patiently waiting for the chance to bring him there and the time is obviously now (I guess why not?) considering that there are very few tourists coming to town these days (sadly...weep).

By the time we arrived at The Peak via cable car, it was almost 2pm and making things worst, it was about to rain. We didn't really care at this point coz our first order of business was very clear - to have our late lunch first.

The last time we went to a Bubba Gump (阿甘蝦餐廳), it was 2013 at Times Square New York. That felt like a long long time ago already.

It took a while for the team to get our table ready. Some of us were getting a little restless but it turned out to be well worth the wait coz it's a private room with a gorgeous view!

But all this guy wanted was his pasta! After all, it was 2:30pm.....

Strawberry Mango Chiller ($85) - Something to cool things off after a long walk up from the cable car station (I had to carry my chubby son up a few levels).

Best ever popcorn shrimp ($95) - No one will say no to these golden brown popcorn shrimps. These weren't bad but the batter was a little thick for my liking.

Deep-fried Calamari ($?) - So good~

Mama Blue's Southern charmed fried shrimp ($169) - So much better than the popcorn shrimp thanks to the much crispier batter. Love the bouncy texture of the shrimp.

Seafood Pasta ($180) - Everyone got all caught up with the incredible view that no one really paid much attention to the Chinese translation of this dish - SPICY Marinara sauce (辣茄汁海鮮意大利麵). Little nugget had a couple of knacks at it before finally declaring too spicy for him. But this was pretty tasty. The linguine was tossed along with shrimp, mussels and clams tossed in their homemade spicy Marinara sauce. Probably the second best dish of the afternoon behind the deep-fried shrimps.

Penne with meatball and tomato sauce ($?) - Something for our little one. He jumped all over the seafood linguine because he was so hungry but as soon as this arrived, he turned his attention back to his beloved meatball penne.

Dixie Style baby back ribs ($238) - The ribs were slow-roasted and finished with their
homemade BBQ sauce. Not bad.

I was always told not to get too down on ourselves, no matter what. Always believe. And just when we kept worrying about the poor weather, the sky started to clear.

Of course, little one couldn't wait to start our hiking tour with this amazing view in the background.

Hong Kong is an incredible city. Let's stay together and keep it that way.

The entire hiking trail took about an hour to finish. Now time for some refreshment at the newly renovated Galleria.
