Moxy Seoul Myeongdong (Seoul, SOUTH KOREA)

We didn’t want to stay at Courtyard Marriott Namdaemun following a run of half a dozen stays. So, I went back to the drawing board last month and came up with a better option just before the trip.

Conveniently located across the street from our currency exchange joint, Moxy Hotel Myeongdong is a playful and chic hotel right in the heart of Seoul’s busiest shopping district just steps away from some of the city’s best street food and fashion boutiques.

Vibrant and trendy, it shares the same building and lobby with the more upscale Le Méridien.

I decided to splurge a little on a spacious corner room and it was well worth the hefty price tag.

Our room features two single beds and a roomy living area that we haven't seen in Seoul before.

The minimalist "smart" design poses a stark contrast to the other hotels we have stayed in Seoul before.

The interiors are designed to maximize every inch of space, removing traditional bulky furniture like closets but that really wasn’t necessary with our spacious room of over 40 square meter of real estate.

The bathrooms are typically a highlight at a Moxy. It often feels more spacious than the living area itself. In fact, I didn’t want to come out of my shower!

While the standard rooms at Moxy are often considered too compact for a long stay, the corner room we had this time offered a stylish décor without compromising space. Combining with the service and location, it undoubtedly became the best option for us in our future trips to the Korean capital.
