I finally met up with Jelloman who was doing some damage to her wallet back in Myeongdong while I treated myself to a delightful lunch at Eatanic Garden. Since there was still another 30 minutes before dinner time, we both agreed to utilize our time wisely which means more indulgence of food. And I just knew that our visit to Seongsu won't be complete without a trip to one of my favorite French pastry shops in Seoul, Balance Pâtisserie (카페 발렁스 ).
Tucked away in a quiet side street away from the hustle and bustle of trendy Seongsu, Balance Pâtisserie has been one of my best finds in Seoul in recent memory. A hidden gem that I was all too happy to have unearthed unexpectedly on my last trip.
We managed to sneak in just before their closing time. Now, I'm ready to sit back, relax and enjoy their French pastries.
Banana (₩8,600) – An unpretentious piece of cake with banana whipped cream, oolong tea mousse and rose infused banana cream on an almond dacquoise base.
Very delicately crafted.
What I love most about this was the marriage between oolong tea and banana creating a surprisingly delicious bond with the subtle notes of tea complementing the sweetness of the banana beautifully.
We always have time for the Dior concept store. At night, it was the perfect spot for selfies.
