Jayeondo Salt Bread (자연도소금빵) has recently become an internet sensation, riding the wave of salt bread hype that has taken over Seoul. With locations in Seongsu, Dosan and Ikseon-dong, we decided to stop by their Seongsu branch while we were in the area.
But with the long line, it looked like it would take over half an hour just to get our hands on those pillowy salt buns so we decided to come back after doing some shopping. It turned out to be a smart move. By 6:30 p.m., only a short line remained.
For 12,000 won, I definitely expected more than just four small buns. While they were soft and buttery with a subtle hint of saltiness, I couldn’t help but wonder how these had become the talk of the town.
P.S. For a much shorter waiting time, check out their Ikseon-dong location!
