On my way back to office, I bumped into the signage in front of Big Grain (品穀) that said Hong Kong style milk tea (港式奶茶). Since I am a huge fan of the local style pantyhose milk tea, I simply couldn't resist the temptation of checking this out personally.
Turns out, they have two new creations with Hong Kong style milk tea as their theme. That warrants a deep dive!
The perfect combination for my afternoon tea snacks.
Hong Kong style milk tea brioche (港式奶茶包) – The brioche came with loads of ceylon milk tea custard cream hidden in the middle so I got cream all over my mouth following the first bite. I thought the milk tea custard was really delicate and it worked so well with the bun which was both soft and pillowy. The cocoa powder did a nice job providing the finishing touch on top.

Hong Kong style milk tea tart (港式奶茶撻) – As much as I like the brioche, I like this one even more.
The buttery milk tea shortbread was not too crispy or flaky, which was always a good start. There was an exciting mix of contrasting textures and flavors on top including a soft mochi, milk tea crunchy, milk tea soft sponge and last but not least, a runny milk tea ganache. A perfect snack for any milk tea fan.
