Our afternoon in Namba started off with a quick visit to Namba Yasaka Shrine (難波八阪神社) and soon we found ourselves at Namba Parks looking for a late lunch venue. Everything was according to schedule until little nugget ran into a Namco video arcade shop. 😤
An hour later, little nugget was finally ready for lunch! And me? I have been sitting outside Kiwami-Tonkatsu Katsuki Namba Parks (かつ喜 なんばパークス店) waiting for a table all this time. And what impeccable timing! Just when I have secured our table, little one finished his final game at last.
I picked this place cuz it's just a few steps from the Namco shop; plus we haven't had tonkatsu (Japanese pork cutlets) on this trip.
Pork tonkatstu – This was a little dry...
Oyster katsu – While both the fried pork cutlets and prawns were disappointing, the oyster katsu was pretty darn good.
We could always count on Japan's juicy oysters. Very nice.
Katsuki's low rating of 3.06 in Tabelog doesn't inspire a lot of confidence and turns out the reviewers were right. That wasn't a very good meal.
We took a lot of photos at Namba Yasaka Shrine before lunch since it's pretty much our first tourist attraction since we touched down. And I thought little one really had a great time there.
