Our Christmas day started off a little slow this morning. Each of us took turns to wait in front of A Happy Pancake's Shinsaibashi branch (幸せのパンケーキ 心齋橋店) and over an hour later, we finally got ourselves a table.
Hidden in the basement of a small building across the street from Big Step, this outpost of A Happy Pancake is just a stone's throw from the famous Amerika-Mura (American Village), a trendy district near Shinsaibashi filled with fashion shops of American inspiration. I originally thought there was a Minamisemba branch (南船場店) of the soufflé pancake specialist much closer to our hotel but it turned out it's been closed down during the pandemic.

Original soufflé pancakes – Most of us took a flyer on the original soufflé pancakes. But we have this in Hong Kong, right!? We didn't fly all the way to Osaka just for these, come on!

Christmas soufflé pancakes – Not surprisingly, I'm the most adventurous foodie at this table.
The limited-time-only soufflé pancakes were topped with whipped cream, pistachio ice-cream, shaved pistachio and fresh strawberries.
I was given a small cup of strawberry sauce to put the finishing touch onto the fluffy pancakes. Just by looking at the colors of red and green, I know Christmas has arrived.
