Osaka-based A-1 Bakery Group who has more than a dozen outlets in Hong Kong, recently teamed up with Japanese patisserie company Châteraisé in their newest concept. La Creation & Châteraisé officially opened doors a couple of weeks ago at Elements Shopping Mall and Times Square.
In addition to the wide selection of bread that A-1 Bakery has long been offering, they now have a special cake counter dedicated to the Japanese inspired pastries from Châteraisé Japan.
They're saying that all these cakes are flown in directly from Japan. Really!?
One of Châteraisé's signature cakes are their mille crepes which comes with 2 different flavors - original and matcha. I ended up going with their matcha mille crepes ($35) and it was pretty decent. While it doesn't have the fine texture of a Lady M mille crepes, it does offer something a little different, which is a layer of fresh cream, nuts and sponge cake on the bottom of the pile. And the result was fairly interesting.
