Fauchon Café (Gotemba, JAPAN) ★★☆☆☆

After a busy morning visiting the Owakudani National Park and Hakone Shrine, we had almost the entire afternoon saved for our shopping spree at the Gotemba Premium Outlet. As we all know, shopping takes a great deal of energy so we decided to have a small bite first before doing further damage to our wallets.

This Fauchon Café looked like a terrific choice.



They have all kinds of French bread here, some with Japanese twists (such as with curry) but no pastries!



There's a few seats available at the corner of the café but they were definitely not the most comfortable ones (as people were constantly walking past you).



We ended up getting some of these bread to-go starting with this simple coconut bun.



And then a sausage bread...



The "honeycomb chocolate" looked like one of the best options out there.



This Fauchon Café is in a totally different league of its own (in comparison to other Fauchon - but in a bad way). It's way too crowded and the choices were very limited. Should have gone to the outlet's food hall instead!
