Canteen@Owakudani National Park 大涌谷國立公園 (Hakone, JAPAN) ★★★☆☆

Owakudani (大涌谷), literally means the "Great Boiling Valley". It's a volcanic valley with active sulphur vents and hot springs in Hakone, Kanagawa Prefecture. If you're visiting
Owakudani for the first time, there are a few snacks in black you must try before you leave.

First, there's the Kuro Tamago (literally means black eggs), which are boiled eggs using hot spring water. Then there are the black curry and black ice-cream which are both famous in the region. You can find all of these wonderful local food right here at the Owakudani National Park.

The valleys looked exceptionally stunning with all the red leaves around. We went for a short walk along the valley and the trails right after our lunch buffet.

Now time for something sweet. Black has never been my favorite color, so instead of the black ice-cream, I decided to go for the special yellow egg ice-cream (¥360).

It was very creamy but the yellow egg flavor wasn't particularly strong.
