The iconic Parisian bakery cafe finally made its way to Hong Kong! Originated in Paris, Rose Bakery who specializes in fresh homemade cakes, also has outposts in mega cities including New York, London and Tokyo.
Their signature industrial look is nicely replicated in their newest branch on the 1st floor of the Page One bookstore at Harbour City.
Apart from their signature carrot cake, they have a whole lot more to offer including their all-day breakfast menu.
We didn't want to order anything heavy as we were looking at dinner in about an hour. So we decided to start off with a slice of banana pecan cake.
The taste was quite good but the texture was a little dry (4/10).
We had this kind of coconut macaron when we were visiting Riquewihr in Southern France a few years ago. It's supposed to be the original macaron dating back centuries ago. Honestly, I prefer the refined ones found in French patisseries these days (4/10).
Lately I have been in love with banana soy milk. I was somewhat surprised that they have it here although they added a slight twist to it by adding some fresh berries. Too bad this was a little too thick (4/10).
Seemed like the only thing they had going well this afternoon was their cappuccino (5/10).
