Hotel Indigo Wireless Road (Bangkok, THAILAIND)

On this trip, we had the pleasure of staying at two of the newest hip hotels in Bangkok. We started things off at Hotel Indigo Wireless Road, a boutique hotel brand known for its fun and sometimes quirky design. This was just the second day into the hotel's soft opening so only the first five floors were operational.

In keeping with the brand's design philosophy, the interiors were tailored with reference to the local culture and history, along with a contemporary twist.

The bathroom looked a little bizarre with the dim lighting and golden colored water basin.

And what would an Indigo be without an infinity pool that overlooks the city, right? We were overjoyed to find that the pool was indeed open on our first day and we wasted no time having an afternoon swim before we headed out for shopping. But unfortunately, it was closed down during the rest of our stay due to maintenance.

Breakfast was just okay. Like most hotel breakfast in Bangkok, they don't put everything at the counter anymore and instead, most items are made to order.

Like this pancake with banana and bacon, they made it specially for us and was sizzling hot when it arrived at our table.

The hotel is just a 5-minute walk to Central Embassy if you walk fast like me and you can find all the best restaurants and entertainment there.

I was quite happy with the hotel's location and design but too bad our stay was ruined a bit by an incident on our second night. We were awaken by a noise in the middle of the night and it felt like something was pounding against the wall every 3 minutes. At first, we tried to wait to see if the noise would go away but it didn't so we had to call the reception. But after hours of investigation with a technician, they still couldn't locate the problem and we were kinda left stranded.

With no immediate solution available, I requested a different room to let us rest while they checked out the problem (which I thought they should've offered to us in the first place). It took a while for them to get another room ready but we finally got it, albeit not before the saga had dragged on for nearly 3 to 4 hours. They were kind to offer us free breakfast the next morning for our trouble but that didn't make up for our loss of sleep. Later that afternoon, we were informed that it was an air conditioning problem and it was finally fixed on the next day. All in all, a very bizarre situation that took a long time for the team to resolve.
