Let Them Eat Cake (Bangkok, THAILAND) ★★★☆☆

There has been no shortage of good home-grown pastry shops in Bangkok in recent years and the award-winning Let Them Eat Cake is just one of many that has made a strong impression on us on this trip.

The little cake shop, located on the fourth floor of Siam Center, is standing tall against fierce competition from cake shops and dessert bars in the same shopping area. And believe me, there are a lot of them!

There are around 10 French-inspired pastries available at the counter and interestingly enough, some of them have added a Thai twist to make them more exciting.

Their Thai tea tart (฿145) is a definite must-try. It's very creamy with a rich Thai tea flavor. Very nice.

They don't have a lot to choose from when it comes to macarons. The Thai tea flavor (฿50) was a pretty solid choice.

Less satisfying was the chrysanthemum tea flavor (yellow) that was quite sweet but there was no sign of any chrysanthemum tea flavor.

I was slightly disappointed with the service here. Not what you would call warm or attentive (which is rare in Bangkok) and making matters worse was the fact that some staff do not speak any English at all.
