We missed out on the chance to check out Ladurée’s ice-cream sandwich on our first day in Paris but thankfully, there was still enough time to make quick amends. In fact, a few days were all it took for me to finally bumped into another Ladurée boutique, albeit at a least expected location, Le Vallée Village.
Ladurée’s Plaisirs Glacés came in only four different flavors. Naturally, I would prefer to get my hands on the pistachio flavor (as I am a freak for anything with pistachio) but unfortunately, they were all sold out today.
Vanilla and pecans (€9) – Between the two thin and crispy biscuits were frosty vanilla ice-cream, with crunchy pecans atop adding to the lovely bite.
Hidden inside the centre of vanilla ice-cream was a bit of runny salted caramel ganache.
Rose and Lychee (€9) – Jelloman chose the rose and lychee flavor mainly due to lovely pink color.
I thought this tasted more or less as Pierre Hermé’s Miss Gla'Gla but the Picasso’s version was slightly better thanks to the use of macaron shells for holding the ice-cream in the middle.
