After lunch at L'Oiseau Blanc, I walked all the way back to Champs-Élysées to visit an old friend while Jelloman and little nugget left for more shopping.
When I said "old friend", I was referring to Café L'Occitane at 86 Champs in collaboration with Pierre Hermé.
It's been nearly five years since I last visited this space dedicated to creativity and passion for ingredients with luxury French beauty brand L'Occitane joining force with the pastry king for an exciting collaboration. Not surprisingly, there are new flavors already waiting for me to try including the Jardin Japonais with citron shortbread pastry, lemon biscuit, morello cherry, tonka bean and lemon compote.

Hot chocolate – Without much of an itinerary this afternoon, I decided to take it easy by starting off with a glass of hot chocolate first. This was really more like warm chocolate lava, similar to the ones served at Angelina Paris and Laduree.

2000 feuilles – Of course, I didn't stop there.

The 2000 feuilles was next. This was basically a harmony of textures with flaky caramelized puff pastry crust, crushed hazelnuts, and crispy praliné made with Piedmont hazelnuts, matching up against the creaminess of praliné mousseline cream. It was obviously very rich in flavors and really nutty (right up my alley). My only complaint was that perhaps the puff pastry could be a little lighter and flakier. That would result in a "lighter" dessert (rich doesn't have to mean heavy). At least for me.

I went on to check out a few more places around Champs-Élysées, including a pharmacy we used to shop right across the street from Galeries Lafayette Champs-Élysées.
That's going to be all for me at Champs-Élysées. Next up, I'm heading over to Saint Germain for a walk. It's not going to a pleasant walk in the rain but I'm just going to enjoy this one.
