I have a couple of things to get done before we take off for France next week, which brought me to KOLOUR Tsuen Wan this afternoon.
I was going to have a quick Japanese ramen for lunch but didn't realize that Issyokemen (一生懸麵) was already history and taking over the space vacated by the Japanese ramen shop was 90s Lazy, a Japanese-style tea salon and restaurant.
This spaghetti Bolognese which was the only pasta dish on the relatively short menu became the easy choice for me when I suddenly craved for some savory spaghetti.
As expected, the Bolognese sauce was more on the sweet side like they did it in Japan, which was really fine with me. But what wasn't fine was the fact that they had pieces of cracked egg shell in the sauce. That was a definite no-no for any restaurant.
Well, as the restaurant name already suggested, the staff here (probably born in the 90s) was a little bit lazy. I was seated near the entrance away from the main dining area, and throughout the meal, none of the servers cared enough to check up on me. Obviously, they didn't care much about my business. I had to walk to the main dining area to get someone to place any order for me; the same thing happened when I needed to ask for my bill. Again, that was the type of service that pushed me to Shenzhen every weekend.
