We managed to squeeze in one final afternoon tea session before leaving Gordes this afternoon. The Ladurée 'salon de thé' located in the centre of the historic village of Gordes, is just a stone's throw from La Bastide and the Airelles Gordes Provencal palace.
They have a small boutique showcasing Ladurée's signature macarons and pastries.

A couple of these have been on my to-do list since our first day in France so this was the perfect opportunity to check at least one off the list.
Onto their tea salon we go, where we can enjoy a partial view of Château de Gordes right from the edge of our seats.
What I call, a perfect afternoon tea with Ladurée's signature hot chocolate and vanilla éclair.
Chocolat chaud Ladurée (€11) – The indulgent flavor of a classic French hot chocolate never grows old.
Vanilla éclair (€9) – This elegant éclair came in five different flavors and colors; pistachio, caramel, vanilla, chocolate and black currant.
The choux pastry in a craquelin crust, was filled with creamy vanilla and topped with an Opalys white chocolate strip. Very impressive.
Some highlights from our amazing day in Gordes, starting with a beautiful shot of the hilltop village from up high.
This stunning view of the village totally took our breathe away.
Our next stop was a visit to Abbaye Notre-Dame de Sénanque, a beautiful Cistercian abbey just a 10-minute drive from the village. It's renowned for its well-preserved Romanesque architecture and picturesque setting surrounded by lavender fields. Too bad, the lavender season was just over in June and July!
The cicada holds a significant symbolic value in Provence and not surprisingly (maybe surprising to little guy), it was everywhere around the cities, even in the form of soaps! 😆😆
