Hiking 101

We didn't have much of a plan going into 2021 on how to kick off the new year. So, when Jelloman asked me to propose a plan on New Year's Eve, I just told her let's do something healthy. That was when she came up with the idea of a "new year hike" as if she could read my mind.

After gathering a team of young and old, we met up at Admiralty where we enjoyed an early lunch. It's going to be a hard fought battle so we made sure that we got all the energy we needed before heading over to Bowen Road (寶雲道).

Little nugget told me how much he enjoyed our 4-hour hike around Shing Mun Reservoir last time around. This time, not so much since it lacked the scenic views.

One of the highlights from our hour-long hike was the walk up to the Lover's Stone (姻緣石). Looks like everyone needed a break after all the stairs.

Almost there.......

After reaching the end of the hiking trail, we took a slow walk down to Happy Valley (that lasted almost as long as our hike). We ended up sitting down at Lucky Star in Causeway Bay for my favorite pineapple bun. Always love the thick slab of butter there!

This pretty much wrapped up our New Year's day adventure. It's not the most eventful new year day we had (comparing to last year when we were in Tokyo) but I guess we'll take it. After all, we do need the exercise after an exercise-less 2020.
