Located on the second floor of Mitsukoshi Ginza, La Maison Ladurée is a traditional Parisian tea salon which has become hugely populated since it opened doors in the heart of Ginza. Not surprisingly, it was fully booked for the entire afternoon with a fair amount of walk-in customers waiting to get in.
With no dine-in option immediately available, we decided to just order a couple of pastries to enjoy on the go.
Some seasonal desserts which were offered on a limited time only on top of their popular fixtures like mille feuille, ispahan and vanilla flan.
Le Miel (920 yen) - One of the seasonal pastries and desserts introduced around Christmas time.
It was primarily acacia honey mousse and mimosa bavarois. There's not much of floral flavors in the mix but the sweetness of honey was apparently enough to get the job done (for me).
Le Fraise (930 yen) - I had this strawberry shaped cake when I was in Tokyo many years ago. This time, I got it for my little nugget because he's such a big-time strawberry lover.
The refreshing strawberry mousse came with layers of strawberry confit and a subtle hint of coconut.
Both mousse cakes were light, creamy and delicate on the palate but that's the expected quality coming from Ladurée I suppose.
