After spending much of the day on my own at Seorae Village, it was time to meet up with the family again in Hongdae. Mom has always got pretty good impression of Hongdae since she bought some cheap socks here last time she was here but I told her they have plenty more to offer on top of well priced socks which happened to last forever. More specifically, desserts and cafes!
One thing I love about Hongdae's food scene is its ever-changing nature. It's bad news for shop owners but definitely welcome news for those with spoiled taste buds!
Our first stop in Hongdae was Hop Chou Cream, a choux pastry specialist that reminded me a lot of Japan's beard papa. They are currently offering 6 different flavors and I heard their sweet potato flavor has been their best seller.
But with the sweet potato flavor all sold out, we had no choice other than going with our second choice which was their marron cream. I thought the choux pastry was a little on the hard side. No complaints with the marron cream though. Pretty smooth, rich and flavorful.
