Boîte de bijou 珠寶盒法式點心坊麗水店 (Taipei, TAIWAN) ★★★★☆

I lost track on how many cafés and cake shops I have checked out on Yong Kang Street (永康街) already but I figured there's at least half a dozen of them. My last stop before heading over to Dunhua South Road is Boîte de bijou (珠寶盒法式點心坊麗水店), a French patisserie located at the end of Yong Kang Street with the entrance on Lishui Street (麗水街).



This is one of my favorite cake shops in Taipei not because they have a wide selection of pastries but rather largely due to the fact that they use some of the best ingredients from around the world to ensure that diners enjoy their products as much as they do.



I'm drooling already just looking at these wonderful creations at the display counter.



Chocolate earl grey (皇家伯爵) - The pastry chefs very carefully choose their ingredients here to ensure that they get the best results. Take this chocolate earl grey cake for example, they pick "Taylors of Harrogate" earl grey tea from England because they like the hint of bergamot in there which they think can provide something extra for the earl grey infused chocolate mousse.

This is silky smooth and I like the balance of chocolate and Earl Grey tea flavors, which are perfectly matched with a touch of acidity from the Grand Marnier. Seriously good.
