Alma Portuguese Grill and Bar (Hong Kong, CHINA) ★★☆☆☆

Christmas and new year are never good time to head out for lunch and dinner coz everyone tends to jack up the prices for the holiday seasons. Well perhaps just one New Year's lunch won't hurt that much.

It's probably not the start "Drawing Room Concepts" is looking for in 2017. The group has just announced plans to close down two of their restaurants - The Drawing Room and Isono at the PMQ effective 22nd of January. That's almost one third of their entire empire down.

Alma Portuguese Grill and Bar is another one of their concepts at the Harbour City and I certainly hope that the prices won't get too outrageous today.

Portuguese-style seafood rice - The menu indicates that it serves up to 2 to 3 people but I don't know. I think I can finish this all by myself. Apart from the ridiculous size, taste-wise I thought it's a pretty underwhelming dish too. The seafood rice was soupy and very bland. I am regretting ordering this already.

The three of us each got a little portion like this so yes at the end, it DID serve 3 people.

Chargrilled beef ribs - Mom doesn't eat spicy so the choices are far and few around here. I thought we made a fairly good choice by picking the charcoal grilled beef ribs. This was pretty well-portioned and the ribs were grilled to perfection with that nice smokey flavor.
