With everyone sleeping late last night (hotpot finished at around midnight), it was no surprise that we all decided to skip breakfast and slept in a bit this morning. We met up at the hotel lobby after checking out and got a taxi for our short trip to the “Bay Glory” Ferris Wheel (灣区之光).
Following my first-ever Ferris wheel experience, we walked around the shopping complex at Happy Harbour (歡樂海灣). While some of us went on a tour at the bookstore, I decided to sneak away for my daily dose of pantyhose milk tea. And it didn’t take long for me to find a place for my milk tea fix.
Opened back in 1973, Manlee Shifun Restaurant (萬利吃飯公司 茶餐廳) reminds me so much of Hong Kong’s Meng Wah Bing Sutt (敏華冰室) with its light blue color tone, bakery stand and classic cha chaan teng (茶餐廳) menu. Although my first priority was a bottle of ice cold milk tea, my attention was immediately drawn to their pineapple buns.
This pineapple bun with a thick slab of frozen butter (菠蘿油) wasn’t bad at all but I bet it would taste even better if the bun has just come out of the oven fresh.
While I was finishing up my last bite on my bun, I got a ping from Jelloman asking where I went. I guess I won’t have time for my tea fix after all.
