Tien Hsia San Chueh Noodle Cuisine 天下三絕 牛肉麵 (Taipei, TAIWAN) ★★★☆☆

Catching an early flight at 8am turns out to be a lot more hectic than I originally thought. By the time I finished dragging my luggage back to the hotel, there was not much left in my tank. Rather than going to one of the night markets for supper like I previously planned, I decided to go to Tien Hsia San Chueh Noodle Cuisine (天下三絕 牛肉麵) for a bowl of beef noodles instead.

Tien Hisa San Chueh is conveniently located near my accommodation. I got there in just three minutes but found myself not particularly hungry. So, my alternative plan was to first go to a couple of souvenir shops for pineapple cakes and return here for supper in about an hour. With nobody lining up for a table at the moment, I figured things won't change a lot in less than 60 minutes. 

But I was wrong. By the time I came back from the souvenir shops, the place was packed and the hostess insisted that I could only get a table an hour later without advance booking. 😪😭 

Luckily, there is always take-away option.

Signature beef noodle soup with beef tail, shank, tendon and heel (天下三絕 牛肉麵) (NT$530) – Well, they don't call themselves the "Rolls Royce" of beef noodles for nothing. NT$530 for a bowl of noodles is certainly not cheap but I thought the clear broth was really flavorful.

The noodles were nice and chewy too. The beef tail, shank, tendon and heel were pretty tender but was this better than other beef noodles I have had in my life? Well, I am no specialist when it comes to Taiwanese cuisine and beef noodles so I really have no further comment on this. 

I do know this. I think this bowl of noodles would taste much better if I was having it on the spot.
