Hotel Josef (Prague, CZECH)

Prague is a medieval city thriving with youth and energy. For the past decade, the capital city of Czech Republic is also known to have some of the most exciting boutique hotels in all of Eastern Europe.

Hotel Josef is Prague's first design hotel and I thought they have a very good one here at the edge of the Old Town and New Town. Everything from the Charles's Bridge to the Old Town square is just a comfortable 10-minute walk and upon our arrival, we were immediately greeted with a welcome drink at the ground floor bar.

The minimalist-trendy Hotel Josef is a masterpiece by award winning architect Eva Jiricna who uses clear glass (see in staircase below) and bold colors everywhere in the premise.

The hotel also boasts one of the largest hotel garden with its 10,000sq feet courtyard right in the heart of Prague's Old Town.

All 109 bedrooms are tastefully designed with a sleek and contemporary approach. The attention to details is simply amazing.

If you have money to spare, I strongly recommend that you check out Room#803 on the top floor. It's supposed to have a balcony with jaw-dropping views over the Prague Castle.

Everybody from Tripadvisor seems to be raving about their breakfast hall but perhaps I was a little too picky, I didn't really enjoy it too much. I thought the choices of food was a little limited and of course, it didn't help to have a few large groups from a local tour on hand. It was pretty noisy every morning.

Hotel Josef wins with its location and its design proficiency puts them above and beyond other competitions. This is definitely my choice for accommodation if I decide to visit Prague again for the third time.
