I knew the time would come for us to visit Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet on Boulevard Haussmann one more time before we leaving Paris, and tonight was the perfect opportunity — the second last evening of our 15-day European tour.
We were looking for a quick supper, and after settling little nugget down at Maison Tafa, I went to check out the one pastry counter I haven’t yet visited — Maison Philippe Conticini.
With so many exquisite creations, I wasn’t about to leave without trying one.
Pur Vanille (€12.70) — The Pur Vanille (also known as the Grand Cru Vanille) is a signature, multi-textured vanilla entremets created by the world-renowned pastry chef. Celebrated for its intense concentration of Madagascar and dark vanilla, it is designed to leave a deep, long-lasting impression on the palate.
Built on a crisp almond croustillant base, it features a soft almond-vanilla sponge, dark-vanilla crémeux, and fluffy white chocolate and vanilla mousse, all covered with an elegant white glaze. It is without a doubt, a vanilla lover’s dream.
It was truly special and memorable, and I’m so glad I didn’t leave Paris without trying it.
