We had a pretty productive day in Kyoto, starting with an early visit to Kinkakuji (金閣寺), followed by a few more attractions in the afternoon. By the time we arrived back in Osaka Station via the rapid train, it was already 6:30pm and completely dark outside.
Thirsty, exhausted, and feeling a little hungry, we decided to grab a drink to freshen up a bit. That’s when we stumbled upon Cafe de Anri, just moments after stepping out of Osaka Station into HANKYU SANBAN GAI (阪急三番街).
At first, we were only looking for a quick drink but we changed our minds after spotting the creamy carbonara from our neighbor.
It turned out to be quite an adventure in Kyoto. We didn’t stop after Kinkakuji. We kept going like an energizer bunny and squeezed in several more spots.
Ryōanji Temple (龍安寺) and its rock garden
Ryōanji Kyoyochi Pond (鏡容池)
Goju-no-To (五重塔), the five-storied pagoda at Horyuji Temple (法隆寺)
Horyuji Temple (法隆寺)
The only place we missed was Nijō Castle (二条城). It was closed when we arrived.
