Fish Plaice Fish and Chips (London, UNITED KINGDOM) ★★★☆☆

Less than 12 hours after enjoying our first fish and chips on this trip, we were back at it again at Fish Plaice.

Fish Plaice doesn't have the pedigree that Poppies possesses with all the National awards. They are better known as a casual spot for traditional fried comfort food, which was exactly what we were looking for this afternoon. We also like the fact that it's just a 3-minute walk to the British Museum. It's going to be our next destination after the quick lunch.

Takeaway is always welcome here.

Fish and Chips (£13.95) - With a choice between cod fish, haddock and plaice, we gladly took the cod because we just had the haddock last night.

The batter is really really nice and crisp. I don't know if cod is better suited for the Asian palate or what but it sure seems tastier than the haddock from last night. The fries were very very good too.

Scampi and Chips (£12.95) - We had this dish more than a decade ago, ironically when we were also on our way to the museum.

The batter was a little on the hard side but not bad.

It never hurts to have your own bucket of homemade tartare sauce when you're having fish and chips. Trust me on this one.

The next order of business, The British Museum. They are doing a special exhibition on Troy. Can't wait to see how that one unfolds.
