Formerly the Norway House just off Trafalgar Square, this 21-24 Cockspur used to be the former Norwegian embassy but has since turned into a multi-purpose building housing a number of apartment rooms (for short and long stays) and a Thai restaurant on the ground floor.
The building itself dated back to 1890 and you can tell the long history judging from the lobby and lift.
For months leading up to our trip, I've been in touch with Alex from Lovelydays and finally got to meet him at the lobby of the apartment upon our arrival from Heathrow.
The L-shaped apartment is located on the fourth floor of the building. We first started by exploring the right side of the premise which would be the living room and kitchen.
This is a very nice dining area. I wish we have this kind of space in Hong Kong.
Sitting there on the couch listening to the lovely music from the vintage record player. Some kind of life.....
The record player is just one of the many pieces of throw-back accessories and furniture found in the tastefully designed apartment.
We were all super tired after the 12-hour flight but this guy still got enough left to be running around the place all night.
Say cheese.....
The kitchen isn't the biggest in the world but it has everything we need, from dishwasher, microwave, oven, fridge, wine cooler/refrigerator, washing machine, coffee maker (did I miss anything?).
Just like any good kitchen, all the plates, bowls, cutlery sets, cups, wine glasses ready when we needed them.
On the other side of the ball, we have the three bedrooms and two toilets. I really love the way the apartment is organized this way, so even if I watch TV late, I won't wake my little one up!
The first bedroom with a double bed. The window is facing the back lane so there's a fair bit of noise during the late hours when staff are throwing out the garbage from the neighboring restaurants or guys are having a heated argument. In fact, the latter happened a number of times during our stay.
I like the fact that this room has a lot of storage space and power sockets.
The second bedroom has two single beds.
Jelloman camps here for the next 5 nights.
Mom and little nugget got the better end of the deal. They have the master bedroom.
This probably has the size of the previous two rooms combined.
No wonder he's smiling all the way to the bank.
The master bedroom also has its own bathroom.
With bathtub too, which is perfect for little guy.
The second bathroom doesn't have a tub but the furnishing is again top notch.
Even have lights installed near the floor of the basin so we won't trip over ourselves while taking a shower!
Everyone including little guy woke up a number of times during the first night because of jetlag so we decided to have a very early breakfast at 6am!
Some father and son talk at the breakfast table.....
At last, sunrise!
A couple of pictures later, little guy already finished his breakfast and getting ready for some cartoon.
We had a wonderful stay at this luxurious 3-bedroom apartment on Cockspur Street. Location is absolutely unbeatable. It's right across from Trafalgar Square with The National Gallery just 400 metres away. There are a number of grocery stores (Tesco) around the corner when we needed water and fruit. Other attractions such as Piccadilly Circus, Regent Street, Chinatown, Leicester Square and Soho are all within walking distance and it's well connected to the other parts of the city via the subway.
I'm going to miss this dining table most cuz apart from my bed, I've spent the most time here during the five days. It's by far the best-looking dining room I've seen from an apartment hotel I had the pleasure of staying at.
