Sugi Bee Garden 杉養蜂園 (Hakodate, JAPAN) ★★★☆☆

The Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse (金森赤レンガ倉庫) turned out to be a lot more interesting than I first thought. Apart from souvenir shops and boutiques by local designers, there're also specialty stores like Sugi Bee Garden (杉養蜂園) offering something a little different for all of us.

Sugi Bee Garden (杉養蜂園) has been around for over 70 years after starting off selling their honey by bicycle in 1961. Nowadays, not only do they produce all kinds of pure ripe honey and manuka honey, they also offer a wide selection of fruit infused honey including kumquat infused honey and fruit juice combined honey (comes in flavors like blueberry, yuzu, apple, mango, raspberry etc.).

They have a booth set up here selling milk ice-cream with their honey. 

This cup of soft serve ice-cream had what they called "maple honey" sprayed all over it. Very nice. I love having honey!



We don't really have a long itinerary this afternoon so we're just going to enjoy our soft serves here before heading to Hachiman-zaka Slope (八幡坂) next.
