L'Appart Pâtisserie 法式閃電泡芙 (Taipei, TAIWAN) ★★★☆☆

Éclair specialty shops and cafés are no longer something unique in the food scene of Paris anymore. In the past few years, a new wave of éclair "specialists" have taken Asia by storm and the ever-growing list now includes L'ÉCLAIR by Sarah Michelle (Singapore), Éclair By Garuharu (Seoul), 1789 Café by Cyrille Courant (Taipei) and this one that we had the pleasure of visiting tonight in Taipei called L'Appart Pâtisserie (法式閃電泡芙).



Brought to us by the folks behind 15eme Pâtisserie (15區法式烘焙), L'Appart Pâtisserie is situated on the second floor of Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Xinyi Place A8 right by the bridge.



They have all kinds of funky éclairs here with amazingly colorful toppings.



Like I have done it so often in the past, I'm picking the most eye-catching one from the bunch. This one was a nice combination of cassis and mont blanc, which I thought was fine but unspectacular. The choux pastry in particular was a bit disappointing with a lack of firm and crisp texture.
