Pâtisserie La Douceur 品悅糖 (Taipei, TAIWAN) ★★★☆☆

After making quick stops at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, National Concert Hall and Liberty Square, we were back at our old tricks around Yong Kang Street (永康街) again searching for something sweet. Obviously a couple of scoops of gelato at 8% just wasn't going to be enough to stop our craving so I led everyone to Pâtisserie La Douceur (品悅糖) for more.



This is a small European-style café with some really exciting French pastries.



Lemon meringue tart, chocolate tart and a whole lot more!



Their signature dessert - mille feuille with caramel and apple compote, that is made to order.



I thought the puff pastry was seriously good. Very flaky and buttery like it's supposed to be though I found the puff pastry and acidity from the apple compote a little mismatched.



Mom had the mont blanc which I thought was another excellent selection here.



If you're looking for traditional French desserts like mille feuille and mont blanc in Taipei, then Pâtisserie La Douceur (品悅糖) is definitely where you would want to be.
