Itaewon is often known as a melting pot of cultures. Unsurprisingly, one would be able to find different cuisines from different corners of Itaewon, ranging from Japanese, Korean to French, Italian and Spanish, all harmonizing each other. There are so many Italian restaurants in the area but one that often stands out the most is Pizza Muzzo, with its glamorous golden color exterior.
I read about the owners of the restaurant being a passionate fan of the European culture so that probably explains the truly authentic "European ambiance" around here. No one will argue the fact that the space is really elegantly decorated as they have stuff brought in from all over Europe (Germany, Denmark, Turkey, Belgium you name it!).
We decided to sit at a quiet corner for a bit more privacy.
The prices are surprisingly affordable considering the luxurious setting of the restaurant.
Well, we haven't had any vegetables all day so the Insalata di Rucola (16,000 won) with rocket leaves, pine nuts, lemon juice, radish and parmiggiano reggiano got us moving in the right direction. The rocket salad was OK but the lemon juice and vinaigrette dressing were a little redundant. A bit too much acidity for me there.
The pork belly with pan fried spinach and polenta fries (22,000 won) was nicely plated but too bad it didn't taste as good as it looked.
At the end, nothing beats a simple plate of linguine. Easily the best dish of the night, this linguine dish (20,000 won) features a velvety linguine pasta with zucchini, shrimp and a touch of saffron. The texture was lovely.
I was really tempted to try their tiramisu and panna cotta but unfortunately, it was getting a little late and we still got the Line Store across the street to check out before we called it the night. So until next time.....
