I've always got a soft spot for rustic European-style coffee shops and bakery cafés in my heart and Backen is right up my alley.
Situated just off the busy streets of Sinsa, Backen is as rustic and throwback as it gets when it comes to bakery café in the city.
There's always a very good selection of bread available and they are all freshly made on the spot.
The best seller here is their custard croissant (3,800 won) which also happens to be one of my personal favorites in Seoul. Don't forget to try one out whenever you're shopping in the Gangnam district!
And just a few stores next to Backen, you will find GOO STK 528, one of the most popular steakhouses in the city. They've always tried to keep it low-profile and under the radar but have since garnered considerable attention since its inclusion in the La Liste.
Note: Backen is open from 10:30am to 9:30pm from Tuesday to Sunday and closed every Mondays so adjust your itinerary accordingly.
